judged by the way its animals are treated.”

Be a Hero—say “no” to unplanned pet pregnanacies
Imagine if the parks and streets of Cusco (and the world) were not filled unwanted puppies and kittens! Sterilisation is good for your pet and great for the community!
- Sterilisation saves lives. Each year in the United States, for example, an estimated 6 million to 8 million pets are killed each year because there aren’t enough people to provide them with safe and loving homes. While we don’t have these statistics for Peru, clearly, there are many, many homeless animals. Please don’t add to this number by letting your pets breed freely.
- Sterilisation helps your pet be healthier. It prevents or greatly reduces the risk of some cancers and other diseases.
- Sterilisation reduces aggressive behavior. Whether your dog seems to have a naturally aggressive temperament or is aggressive when in heat or nursing, sterilisation typically results in a friendlier, more mellow animal.
- Sterilisation reduces roaming. If your cat or dog is frequently wandering through neighborhoods in search of a mate, sterilisation will reduce or eliminate that behavior.
- Sterilisation reduces scent-marking (marking territory with urine) in cats and some dogs.
